Somber Sonnet

Sometimes I keep thinking

I’m something I am not

It drives me crazy

When I find out

Just how I got myself into this lot

I seem to be caught

In a world of mere illusion

A place we cannot help

But make this conclusion

I’ve come to believe

The life I create

Is more than what I’m told

This only fuels my disbelief

The debate continues to unfold

When I was young

Me against the wild

Now I’m aged

Still but a man

And yet still only a child
