Through mind and body

Some of my fondest memories

Lie on a Southern California beach

Sand between my toes

The Sun I beseech

The oil on my skin

Turns me dark and brown

After this relaxing day

I’ll turn back to town

Like the Sun

Irradiating my body physique

Ideas from a great book

Stimulates the intellect I seek

Through mind and body

The spiritual realm on display

Easiest to be seen

In the picture of Dorian Gray

If you nourish the body

If you nourish the mind

If you nourish the soul

Than maybe you will find

A noble truth

A better life

Reduce the cause

That leads to strife

From whom shall we hide?

If you kneel at the alter of your sin

And bow down to the path of your destruction

Than you must eventually face

A self imposed abduction

How many of us

Compromised our common sense?

Subdue our better judgement?

Just what side do you stand on the fense?

If and when you awake

Upon self-realization

A chance for change

With self-indignation

Light eviscerates darkness

Forgiveness will always atone

The highest form of love

Is that we are never ever alone

My brother once told me

The universe will provide

To whom will we seek absolution?

From whom shall we hide?

If we are pure in vision to see

An afterthought of reflection

Little did I know at the time of this transaction

As my luck would have it

I would be forever compromised in my satisfaction

In many cases of human bondage

Attachment is not always clear

Even more astonishing

We are the architects of our fear

The guardian angel

In our life there can be

Many chances to nullify

If we are pure in vision to see

DCG

Tell me if you can?

It keeps my sanity

Seeing a beautiful smile

Keeping a sense of humor

In the madness all the while

Don’t be easily offended

People do stupid things all the time

Even pond scum rises to the top

Just be ready when the yuppies climb

Most of our absurdity

Is found in the reason of man

Anyone have any answers?

Tell me if you can?

Peel back the social veneers

Peel back the social veneers

You posit on media as real

Strip away these shiny objects

Aligning with how you want to feel

The picture of Dorian Grey

Is something most cannot see

It must be reconciled from within

Who wants to be a nobody?

Maybe an enhanced photo?

A status symbol revealed?

Boasting about a life event?

Not something you still want concealed

The problem is not what you show

The choices you make are yours

It defines much of your character

Just what happens behind closed doors?
