At least I gave it a shot

When the mind is weary

It can become overwhelmed and confused

One must then use a counter balance

Before one can defuse

There is nothing wrong with confusion

If it forces you to think

Consider all sides

And be distinct

Sound mind and sound body

Common sense can balance the equation

Activate your intelligence

And confront the mind-virus invasion

Some of our problems take time to work through

Patience, reflection, and persistence

Is the prescription

In times of unsolved resistance

The Tao resolves conflict with Wei wu Wei

Zen resolves conflict; human suffering as attachment

Hence you cannot grasp and cling to your breath

One must always exhale for detachment

On the other hand

The Confucian is the pragmatist

Resolution is common sense

No need for the iron fist

The American surfer knows

How to escape a riptide

Surrender to the water current

And not to their own pride

The will imposes maladaptive behaviors

And maladaptive thought

When we fail, we say

“At least I gave it a shot”

We are the arbiters of atonement

I’d like to think

I have value in my thought

But you must always recalibrate

The voices of opposition and the criticism that is brought

Not everyone is right

Not everyone is wrong

You must choose, which points are weak

And which points are strong

The pendulum swings

Hence the debate

Will judgment be early?

Will forgiveness be late?

We are the arbiters of atonement

Just how will we rectify?

When will we smile?

When will we cry?

Old wounds can heal

We learn from experience

We learn from dreams

We learn from others

Sometimes these lessons are not what they seem

Forged with reason and emotion

This imprint attaches to our soul

Sometimes they change with the times

Sometimes they’re put out on parole

Attachment to anything

Either pleasure or pain

May not serve us after the fact

And may just be in vain

Memories can last a lifetime

Our ability to deal with them will change

Old wounds can heal

As this is not really that strange

DCG

Understanding is the payment, perception is the fee

I’m receptive to wonder

The Wonderment of our senses

I’m wonderstruck with what I see as beautiful

The beauty from within our own fences

Many are distracted

The essence of what true beauty really is?

To rely only on physical attraction

It’s like holding water with a sieve

How many times?

Will our ego’s deceive?

If we pay attention?

Will we revise what we believe?

To ask, what is beauty?

A question in philosophy

How many people can answer?

How many are left in ambiguity?

Some may learn the hard way

Some may never learn

Some by example

Some will have to wait their turn

The knowledge we acquire

Cannot express the wonder we feel

It is only in how we live our lives

The wisdom of how we deal

if we look through a lens of falsehoods

How will the world appear to be?

Another fun house mirror?

Is that what we will see?

Distortion can come from dirty lenses

Distortion can come from unchecked ideology

How often do we clean the lens?

How often do we test our reality?

It must certainly be a gift

If we can clearly see

The wonder and beauty in life

Understanding is the payment, perception is the fee

Just think how now what you can bring?

Woke up from a dream

With other characters I had in my head

But it made more sense

Of my own life instead

Do dreams, permeate language?

If you carefully observe the dream

What will it tell you about yourself?

Just exactly what will it mean?

Can you see another perception of yourself?

Can you unlock another door?

Can you reveal another view of yourself?

That you have never seen before?

Can you decode this revelation?

Will you be able to remember?

If you dream in January

Will you know it still by December?

If you commit this to memory

Will you develop it summer, fall, winter and spring?

How are you better yourself?

Just think how now what can you bring?

The instant karma we now re-acquaint

It’s been four months since my last post

I’ve struggled with my sight but not with my vision

This inner sanctum I dwell with my thoughts

Only now a more reflective provision

I ponder and think deep

About what I truly find real

When something is taken away

You care more about how you feel

Experience begets empathy

Wisdom comes with self-restraint

The folly of our misgivings

The instant karma we now re-acquaint

Life has many gifts

Take heart and seize the day

Love deeply and serve others

Take heed before it all goes away

DCG

If we are pure in vision to see

An afterthought of reflection

Little did I know at the time of this transaction

As my luck would have it

I would be forever compromised in my satisfaction

In many cases of human bondage

Attachment is not always clear

Even more astonishing

We are the architects of our fear

The guardian angel

In our life there can be

Many chances to nullify

If we are pure in vision to see

DCG

Being mindful in the present

It’s funny when you remember

Mistakes that you have made

Moments with your past loved ones

As time moves on they usually fade

But sometimes in a dream

The mind will reflect

Reviewing the old memories

You now seem to neglect

Awaking to what is here and now

Can benefit you greatly

Being mindful in the present

We can extinguish “What have you done for me lately?”

DCG

Look at the path you are on

How do you measure?

The worth of a man?

The virtues?

The vices?

Declare them if you can

Only the character

How they behave

What they did?

What they forgave?

Start with a conversation

That you have with your reflection

Look at the path you are on

Does if require course correction?

DCG

Life is too precious

I embrace the joy

When I see the things line up in place

Time spent together

Sharing the world as I look upon your face

Knowing there is no expectation

Knowing only these feelings that stand

Part of the uncertainty

Is built into the hand

I don’t rely on criticisms

They only detract from the moment

One can spend a lifetime

To that which is unspoken

That which is meaningful

Is better when it is said

Never leave the heart unopened

Never leave it only in your head

Life is too precious

Rejoice in what life can offer

Too many of us never act

We leave it in an unused coffer
