Truth does not fear investigation

Truth does not fear investigation

Many investigations do not find the truth

Human minds are falible

You can observe this every day if you want proof

No matter what the subject

No matter what the thought

What matters is how you argue

What matters is how you fought

Your logic will bring you to answers

That you must reconcile and sustain

Can you meet the criterion?

What is it you wish to attain?

If you bend the findings to your liking

If you posit any bias into your view

The results will possibly please you

Yet the result may not be true

We may never truly know the answers

For the questions we fail to ask

And surely we fall into trouble

When we think we are up to the task

We must somehow steer for the middle

As both extremes will drive us mad

Logic and common senses

Are all we really ever had

DCG

For whom will the bell toll?

In childhood we become enamored with fairy tales

As adults we create our own

Still enamored by this fiction we make

Asking the right questions allows the truth to be shown

In misplaced trust

The gullible will fail

Some children learn life lessons

Some adults will simply just wail

Imagination turns corporeal

When fantasy becomes real

The measure of our reality

Is the only hope for an appeal

Human behavior is vexing

We stop looking at what we see

We invent alternate scenarios

Becoming an obedient and deserving trustee

The cynic disposes of reciprocity

The hysterical will lose control

The hedonist is driven by pleasure

For whom will the bell toll?
