Self-Reflection

Self-Reflection

The razors edge

To better myself

I’ve made this pledge

The search to improve myself

On the lessons of my life lived

Can benefit me

On the perspective that it gives

Yet I’m chasing a ghost

When I dwell on the past

I no longer serve myself

As the cost is vast

You heal from wounds

Not by attaching to the grief

Reliving a memory over and over again

There is no relief

One must move forward

I must create a new me

Build upon a new foundation

On how I intend to be

DCG

If I differ you will Lambast

My reasoning is compromised

I’ve lost my common sense

I seldom think for myself

My feckless education is my defense

Born into the nanny State

With no incentive to earn

I’m persuaded by others

To feel the Bern

We are not individuals

We must join the collective

Some people tell me this is wrong

Just what is the objective?

You control a population

The cult of a demography

That seduces your perception

Subverting your advocacy

If I don’t adopt this philosophy

I just may be an outcast

Who are you to tell me?

If I differ you will lambast

Understanding this equation

W. Somerset Maugham’s Larry Darrell – The Razor’s Edge

Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan

Two characters, two world wars

Changed their lives forever in the face of dyin’

The awakening of human spirit

We are beings of frequency ready to receive

We are also responsible and capable

For what we shall perceive

Be you on a pilgrimage of ignorance

Or on a pilgrimage of awakening

We calibrate our receptivity

We calibrate our enabling

Opportunities are yours

For those capable to see

Understanding this equation

Is a fundamental key

DCG

The court of suffering

Be thankful for your blessings

It does not matter who you are

The further we distance ourselves from happiness

The less we notice just indeed how far

A captive trance

Will take over our perception

It deceptively steals our senses

A rational mind is now in defection

Too often our hearts and minds stray

Too often we focus on our hurt

Why not rejoice for the positive?

Why do we not avert?

It is not our natural behavior

Therefore I think it is learned

If we put this into practice

Than the court of suffering is now adjourned

DCG

I didn’t think it could get much better

I didn’t think it could get much better

Never have I ever wanted something so much

The pleasure is now mine as I partake in this endeavor

Little did I know that I would use it as a crutch

After all these years I return to a state of bliss

But only for a moment as I forget this specious claim

It really does not satisfy my sensibilities

Never does it ever fill my heart for the sake of my name

We hypnotize ourselves into thinking what we would fancy

But how many times do we really just try to deceive?

Negotiating this battle using subtle mental gymnastics

It’s amazing how we trick ourselves into what we believe

It this what we teach the children?

Or is it something they teach us?

The purest minds will not objectify

And in this we can surely trust

Remove the silly objects that distract us from lethargy

Remove the temptation in vessels of our desire

Just look to the insatiable clenching fist in a jar

If one surrenders their grip, than only then you may acquire

As we must also Referee

Dark secrets of a family

Never willing to share

Bitter old man reminisces

Beholden to pride he doesn’t seem to care

The trait of a family

That never relinquishes the pain

Spawns a generation

Only understood by the arcane

Transactions of a lifetime

Tallied up on the abacus of circumstance

Modeled for a pedigree

A dominion over chance

The rebellious will break the cycle

That runs along family lines

Rejecting all of their disputes

That you may often see no direct signs

The residuum of our consequence

Is up for us to see

How we shall play this game

As we must also referee

DCG

Intend to become Professed

A life with the good and the bad

Forgive that which is broken

We must take all into account

Censure that which is unspoken

Awaken from your slumber

Another day is here

Get on with the work

There is nothing to fear

Learn to take control

Choose that which is best

Do not repeat the past

If indeed you want to attest

Break from the prison

From which you are in

Don’t relive the life gone by

The intellectual shackles from where you’ve been

The struggle is real

Learn from your unrest

Deliver yourself from disinterest

Intend to become professed

DCG

Did you live up to the Forecast?

Writing down my thoughts

I Journal them in code

Keeping secrets to myself

watching this mind erode

In courage and sincerity

It doesn’t always turn out right

When approaching a truthful account

We sometimes cower in its sight

Yet we must come to terms

With the failures from our past

Whether we confront them head-on now

Or whether we allow them to fester and last

What we tend to follow

Is what we tend to believe

How we write it down

Relies on what we preconceive

Consider reading your journal

From twenty years ago

How do you fare?

Did you eat crow?

Memory and cognitive dissonance

Shows written word as evident

Have you ever really changed?

Is this why you are so petulant?

Finding out about yourself

From another self of the past

Isn’t really a bad thing

Did you live up to the forecast?

Silence Soothes

Silence Soothes
cool afternoon
early morning or night
no motions quiet delight
little movement
silence soothes
silence imprisons
solitude of suffering quakes
either madness or nirvana
for ones soul, one’s sake
take choice make decision
you live now
It’s never too late
silence imprisons
