Just Put it on the Marquee

The damning judgements

That some friends and family members make

Often disrupts a healing

For a soul’s sake

Maybe they are not all wrong

Maybe they only see just one part

However if not being careful

You can persuade a person to depart

Separation from friendship

Separation from the family

Separation from supportive voices

May lead to uncalculated calamity

Do we make haste?

Do we look beyond our own need?

Do we project our own views?

Are we open to concede?

Are you giving advice?

Are you listening to me?

Do you like to hear yourself talk?

Just put it on the Marquee

I am the Resistance

I am the resistance

If the world delivers pain

The terms of my shortcomings

Calls me out by name

I am the resistance

Self-perpetuating

A walk of shame

I find myself Inducted

Into my own hall of fame

I am the resistance

the levity about to unfold

A comedy of errors

In this path of which I hold

I am the resistance

Do I double-down or do I turn away?

Do I conflate them both?

Who’s to say?

I am in resistance

If I do not apply what I learn

Not to ignore

Able to discern

I am in resistance

The Burden Remains on that Which We View

With every sunrise

I live to see a new day

Another chance to renew

With a currency of love in my transactions I pay

In needless attention

We manifest a destiny we make

Not in pursuance of our ideals

But in only the ones that we fake

That is to say

What we give our energy to

We attract that which we posit

The burden remains on that which we view

The Mirror of Illusion

The Mirror of illusion

What is the presumption if your selfie is “art”?

The narcissist protects

The narcissist has a deeply troubled heart

We sacrifice our integrity

When we have to mask the truth

Our vanity has taken over

consuming a once innocent youth

The specious habits of perception

Our beliefs are betrayed

An up-spring of injury

We substitute a charade

Maybe we try to mitigate?

Maybe we try to fool?

When all is said and done

Only the broken heart’s pretend to rule

Healthy self-assessment

Does not face the mirror

Fabricating an understanding

Resisting an underlying fear

Judgement Day

Judgement day

You used to think you were a good man

What does the evidence show?

If you take all of your accounts into hand?

It’s a slippery slope

The failures of the past

More mercy shown

For those who learn fast

So when will we learn?

With every move that we make

The opportunities that flourish

The ones that we stake?

When do you realize?

When do we wake?

The ripples we cause

From our mistake

Are we reflective?

For a punitive sake?

Is it just another angle?

Are we on the take?

When there is resistance

Our actions are pointed out

When there is none

We rarely have doubt

The foundation of western civilization

Was based on a moral code

One we have once forgotten

What will we forbode?

Asking questions that never fade

Deeply troubled child

Asking questions that never fade

Never fully brought out into the light

The kind of suffering that remains in the shade

Some children don’t feel love

Less than their sibling with needs

Some parents don’t know how to show

Some parents never know how to lead

Unresolved issues

Channeling trauma from the past

Interwoven into the present

Never knowing the root of the tears that they cast

Sometimes the child

Will grow into the man

But the inner child remains

Often playing hide and seek or catch me if you can

The age of the body

Does not mirror the age of the mind

Some experiences we have as a child

We never leave behind
