Actions speak louder than words

We will all experience betrayal in life

But what is worst?

The betrayal itself we conspire

Or being in denial without our knowledge of it first?

Lack of objectivity?

Self-deception?

How can you hold yourself accountable?

With the flaws in self- perception?

What will be the muse that guides you?

What will be the ruse that divides you?

How will you navigate?

Set your compass in the sea?

Where do you fix the North Star?

Set the course in our humanity?

My Reason to Forgive

I’ve contemplated my behavior

Always wanting to be on the right side of my wrongs

But this focus will also shed

Much of the error within others and where it belongs

We can only control what is in our power

We must forgive others the folly of their deceit

Exoneration is not for the sole sake of relieving guilt

But for the sake of the soul we do not want to deplete
