The Charm of the Romantic

The charm of the romantic

Is a very powerful attraction

But we risk our objectivity

When we romanticize all of our transactions

Emotions are readily manipulated

Much like fantasy and the fairy tale

An audience not reliant on reason

Is often seduced by this veil

Feelings are dichotomous

If used alone they can mislead

But when used with reason

You are much more likely to succeed

This is not to say

That emotion has no merit

They embody the human condition

An essential part of living well that we will inherit

Emotion and spirit are subjective

Only with reason

Will they become transformative

If we look to anger

Petulance never resolves

If under a cycle of exasperation

Few actions will ever be solved

Ipso Facto

We are drowning in information

While we starve for wisdom

EO Wilson was right

We must synthesize input with our central nervous system

The Buddha once said

I never see what has been done

I only see

What remains to be done

And with this said

I give you my worth

Ipso Facto

We must act on our reason perpetually after our birth

The Indictment of Human Reason

If you aren’t able to change the mind

You force our will to subjugate to a ruling class

You criminalize ideas you can’t win

You circumvent the impasse

You want to bring down a nation

You defile the populous from within

Indoctrinate and dumb down the children

A cultural original sin

All the judges of history

Will not be silent

Even if you re-write the history books

We will never exonerate the violent

You can change the language

Make it all about hate speech

Attack the first amendment

For those who follow I will beseech

You cannot get inside my head

My reason is sound

If you put my body in jail

My mind will never be bound

The indictment of human reason

Liberty under attack

Who will tow the line?

Who will double back?

The Travesty of a Generation

So you think you know about the world

Espousing something you read from a book

Something that a liberal arts professor said

But did you research it yourself and take a good look?

So if you’re going to make an argument

You better learn how to make your case

Only the rules of logic

Is what you must embrace

Do not trust the sophist

Nor the emotionally manipulated mind

Not the religious scientism cult

These are all of an ignorant kind

I have pity for the indoctrinated youth

I have contempt for federalized education

A travesty of an ignorant populace

The travesty of a generation

The World keeps Turning

Do you change your mind?

Or do you stay the same?

When your arrogance fails

And your vanity remains

Are you quick to point the finger?

When a misunderstanding takes place

Are you prone to have an argument?

As you get up into their face?

Are you thoughtful of an opposing opinion?

Another point of view?

It’s not about proving who’s right

It’s not all about you

We are not the center of the universes

No matter how much we want to be

The world keeps turning

Learn to get along with those whom you disagree

The Road to Hell

The road to hell

Is often paved with good intent

Our miscalculations and prejudice

Weighs in on our consent

We say our belief

Is divinely inspired

Whether divinity or dogma

We continue with ways to conspire

To whomever we will give our praise

Our actions are mortally bound

Herein lies our salvation

As the eternal will never make a sound

We have perfecting philosophies for a reason

We are flawed and can only aspire to be divine

Yet our arrogance and our natures

Often distort what we think is benign

DCG

Sedition from Bondage

The key of captivity

Lies in the ability of the mind

Break the cycle of learned helplessness

Your freedom you will find

The fundamentals of illusion

Breed attachment and pain

When trapped in the problem

The solution we search for is in vain

Become the escape artist

Study the trap you are in

Visualize the possibilities

Become the Houdini and begin

The levels and degrees of servitude

We levy or subjugate

We mold our reality

Much of what we create

What is the sound of one hand clapping?

Teacher enticing student to see

Constructs in our minds

Can also be just folly

The statement below is false

The statement above is true

A liars paradox

Another Waterloo

The duck or the rabbit?

Wittgenstein would ask

Which will give way?

Which one will last?

The Zen koan, the Greek paradox, and Wittgenstein

All demonstrate a vantage point to see

Problems of human reasoning

All contingent on how we will be
