When knowledge evades us

I write from the heart

But sometimes my head gets in the way

Yet one without the other

May often lead us astray

And so born is the mystery

The habitat for the human being

A collective asylum

In constant sorrow of their feeling

In all of human history

The people will create

What they don’t achieve

They simply relegate

Therefore, the case to be made

Books of the Bible, Plato’s Republic and William Golding‘s Lord of the flies – please

So much literature

So much to reprise

When we fail to solve the problems of ethics and epistemology

We still gravitate to argue over the metaphysical

When knowledge evades us

Our faith still argues which God is more inevitable

DCG

Until you reconcile your own inventory

Complexity of the mind

Complexity of the soul

Complexity of the body

Just what is our role?

You might argue. The child is a blank slate.

We imprint upon them values we demonstrate and show

But I will argue many children will ask questions

Before they will give it a go

The study of civilization

It’s empires – the rise and the fall

Show indisputable patterns of behavior

If they can’t achieve total control

Then they will build a 13,100 mile long Great Wall

The masters and the servants

The peasants and the king

No matter the form of government we follow

We are sure to see the Folly we bring

Is it safe to say?

We are not good Stewart’s of our personal responsibility?

So why talk about the Commonwealth?

When there is so much personal insecurity

In today’s world

a liberal mind might promote activism

I on the other hand would rather tend to my own garden

Develop my self- improving pragmatism

Those who blame others

Serve the master of hypocrisy

You cannot point the finger

Until you reconcile your own inventory

DCG

Who will bring the receipt?

Thank you for showing me kindness

Way too many emotional vampires out there

They will take everything you have to give

And leave nothing to spare

Thank you for thinking of me

The narcissists I know

Only acknowledge their own needs

They have little else to show

I am very grateful to the people who share

There is purpose in their smile

They show me meaningful lessons

They teach me the reason for living this lifestyle

I can become a better person

I watch, listen and learn

And if you really study the landscape

You’re better off treating people with concern

No one better knows gratitude

Than those who express humility

When we recognize our kinship

We recognize a shared humanity

If you understand, our differences

You must surely understand our similarity

To know, we are not the center of the universe

Enter Sir Isaac Newton and his theory of gravity

there is wisdom and honesty

There is corruption and deceit

Distinguishing between them

Who will bring the receipt?

DCG

Beware the disparager

Foraging in the garden

Of my thoughts in my mind

Removing the weeds

That leaves me, bitter and unkind

Pruning is essential

For the flora to blossom and grow

Not unlike old painful memories or bad ideas

We should no longer attend to and show

The best practices of living well

Should be taught to us when we are young

As we mature, we continue to cultivate

This practice should never be undone

Cultivation is more than good manners and etiquette

You must know right from wrong

and just how we are to apply

With our need to belong

I think MLKJ would agree

There is a spectrum of value in the content of our character

Beware the cynic

Beware the disparager

DCG

The Hornswoggle boondoggle

When you argue and debate from confirmation bias

You find opinion that is similar to your own

You then use it as a hive-mind data point

Rather than standing all alone

You can easily find people

Who might likely agree

But this does not prove any argument

So don’t take it from me

Have you ever really noticed?

The political activism on social media

Many people are not purveyors of truth

I know this from common sense and not from any encyclopedia

Copyright law was originally overlooked

LimeWire , and Napster made it possible to steal

Like social media and political activism -technology allows you a platform but it doesn’t mean you’re right for free speech is welcome if you only advocate senseless division – the case is now on appeal

Please adhere to the rules of engagement

Manners and etiquette are a reasonable request

Don’t babble about the Hornswoggle boondoggle

Or you might be known as a pest

DCG

For the answers you must demand

Self discovery is often impeded

On how we self reflect

Where do we place our attention?

Just exactly what do we inspect?

You might observe what happens around you

You might only think about how it makes you feel

But if you don’t take ownership

You won’t move forward and heal

We will often hide from ourselves

Our ego and self-esteem we try to protect

What we don’t pay attention to

We will often neglect

To be honest is hard

To be honest to ourselves is even harder

Easier to fool yourself

And become a character martyr

Critical self appraisement

Is not necessarily bad

If the goal is to self improvement

Than this is a conversation that must be had

If you have internal conflict

With something you don’t understand

Look inward and start asking questions

For the answers you must demand

DCG

Just what in life will you bring?

I have a better understanding of where I am going

After what I have been through

Experience teaches us you don’t love a woman because she’s beautiful

She’s beautiful because you love her – true

I trust in Lao Tzu

On Ways to flourish

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength

While loving someone deeply gives you courage”

Having a good heart

And knowing how to use

If love is the beauty of the soul

Then the only question is how and when do we choose?

Time and effort are needed

To cultivate the art of the soul

How do you measure your success?

How do you pay the toll?

Make a decision

Live by the will

If you pass the Rubicon

Only your doubt will stand still

Life is a mystery

But if I am certain of anything

It is better to give than it is to receive

Just what in life will you bring?

DCG

Sometimes we don’t invest into the right people

Sometimes we don’t invest into the right people

We do not see them as who they are

Maybe they don’t reciprocate?

Maybe they take it too far?

When people recognize our value

We truly appreciate

If our own friends don’t

Then maybe we should reevaluate

we cannot control how other people feel about us

But we can control for whom we associate

Better our chances be

For us to navigate

There are tides of human contact

Sometimes washing away our connectivity

Demoralizing and depreciating

Making me question “is this what I see“?

There are many complexities

To the bonds that we make

For who’s soul will benefit?

For who’s sake?

Do we self-sabotage?

do we self-sacrifice?

Do we follow the deceiver?

Or do we follow the Christ?

DCG

The reason you pretend

To forgive oneself

Can be challenging

The past mistakes and headaches

Exposed with your accounting

But to truly forgive

Is to make amends

Discontinue the behavior

And never do it again

One must break the cycle

Forgive yourself one day

And on the next day

You do it again

Stop repeating bad habits

These are something

We should certainly not depend

You don’t offend

If you suspend

The reason you pretend

Not wanting to bring an end

And so the hand with a joker

Is played like a fool

You really can’t hide

Behind a mask if you still think it’s cool

DCG

Maybe we need a Renaissance of etiquette

You should not need a preacher or a politician

To tell you when you are wrong

You must decide for yourself

The appeal to authority will take too long

It is difficult to live in ambiguity

“The heart of the fool is in his tongue; the tongue of the prudent is in his heart”

When one takes account

One does their part

Maybe we need a Renaissance of etiquette

To reprise the social contract

A moral code of conduct

Reinforced by its impact

The true measurement of wealth

Is not a physical possession

It rather dwells in our wisdom

A statement in biblical confession

Progressives have infiltrated our educational institutions

Teaching to hate America

Essentially a progressive activism

God help us in this political hysteria

The signs of educational indoctrination is evident

Turning point and Charlie Kirk attest

Just listen to the parents of these children

They will often profess
