There’s something about her

I can’t really say

Maybe it’s for smile, maybe it’s her eyes

Funny how it’s only been just a few days

I have so many questions

But she is a woman with very few words

Living in Carlsbad

Walking on the beach under the singing birds

I wonder if Fonda drives a Honda

I know she likes the beach and the sun

I wonder what her laugh sounds like

When she’s out having fun

Maybe we could go out for breakfast

Somewhere by the beach

Somehow, I already know

That she’s a peach

So I’ll give her a quick rundown

Of my life, then she can see

Would it really even matter?

If I were to change my view

Believe the deluded people

It’s hard to gain any ground

When you confabulate

So in retrospect

You must question what you reflect and communicate

With every decade we ponder

The pros and cons of the emotional inventory spent

The more we regret

The more we lament

Growing pains are the by-product

Of reason and accountability

The price and the rite of passage

In our maturity

It is not uncommon to misdiagnose our past 

The motivation is not lost

But it is the result

When we find out the cost

The wisdom we seek

Will benefit us if we pay attention

Some memories may mislead 

Unless we have proper retention

Experience and practice

May dispel a memory

If one is in question

In our receptivity
