Love is patient

Love is kind

Love is forgiving

Love is blind

I want to see the sorrow behind your smile

I want to understand your motivations

The reason for the silence 

The feeling of your sensations

I want to be the remedy

The medicine that can heal

I want to bring you tears of joy and happiness

I want to make you feel

I ask for nothing in return

As for this, I do not know why

There is something deep inside of me

That makes me want to try

You may call it empathy

This connection I feel between us

It is not completely selfless

Because, because, because, because 

Maybe your smile was Cupid‘s arrow

Maybe it’s not meant to be

You wouldn’t blame me for trying

Five simple rules

Denzel says you must first learn

Then you earn

and then you return

Which means you develop the self: the body, the mind and the spirit

Then you face the world; an agency in the community

What will you bring to the table?

What will be your ingenuity?

For the body I must have discipline and dedication

For the spirit, I must have devotion

For the mind, I must have determination

And for society, I must have diplomacy

Five simple rules

Discipline, dedication, devotion, diplomacy and determination 

This pilgrimage I take

With reciprocity and association

the quest for knowledge

The quest for peace

Materialism never wins

As the body will one day cease

Time is our currency

In the ever presence of mind

We live only in the here and now

Forever, are we bound in time?

I was told I fall in love easily

Maybe it’s true and maybe it’s not

at least I can say

I know what I’ve got

Sometimes love can heal

Sometimes love can hurt

Sometimes love is forgiving

Rest assured, the heart will alert

If we stop risking

Taking a leap of faith with our heart

Living life without any love

Is one that is not very smart

You can admire from a distance

Though unrequited you can also love from afar

Unbalanced and clearly not ideal

Still better than to wish upon a falling star

These lessons that we learn

In the canvas of our lifetime

Our hearts will paint a picture

That only our hearts will hear the chime

They say to err is human

To forgive is divine

Take the self and ego out of the equation

Just what will you find?

Reciprocity is a factor

I cannot deny

Our happiness is essential

And this we should not defy

There will be a time

When your love becomes a gift

Unfamiliar to the broken hearts

That will send your own heart adrift

This emotional embargo

Just because you can resist the devil

Doesn’t mean you should hang out with him

Take this as a truth

Do not take it on a whim 

It’s easier to avoid temptation

Then it is to resist it

If you don’t want temptation to follow you

Then don’t act like you are interested and just sit 

Because of our loyalty

Because of our doubt

Because of our skepticism

All we can do in this box is burst out 

Our faith will be tested

The appearance of the hardest path to take is not always as clear

The motivation to overcome

May give us a better compass to steer

You can’t purge yourself of feeling

But you can certainly numb

Over time you become bitter and resent

Just what then will we become?

This emotional embargo

We place on others, lovers, and our friends

Just how will we survive?

Just how will our relationships end?

We back ourselves into a corner

There is only one way to move

We must go forward again

Because only our time will prove

it is not as bad as we imagined

We have trapped ourselves in an emotional  cage

We’re spinning our wheels round and round

we must muster the courage for os to wage

The beauty of this arrangement

I believe in you

This girls got something

She’s gotten moxie

The secret of my affection

Scarcity makes it more valuable

This currency of our emotions

This investment of the soul’s capital

Is a gift of heart and not a trade

I give it willingly

It is not something made

Doeth not have any agenda

Only to communicate how I feel

Follow your heart and do what it tells you

There is a battle going on inside us

I saw how you looked at me

I saw the expression on your face

You had a happy smile

You were in a happy place

You present to the world, a strong woman

But I can also see 

The vulnerabilities deep within you

On occasion, you have shown to me

To protect ourselves, we guard our feelings

Not always knowing how they will come

I know you’ve felt exploited

Just when will this feeling be done?

Please forgive me

Why is this how I am?

I’m happy when you are happy

Maybe I am a sacrificial lamb?

There is a battle going on inside us

Each of us fighting to be free

Free from past emotional injuries

If you are in between two conflicting emotions

Then I think you would agree

Take a step back for a moment

Will you allow me to share what I see?

What will it take for me to show you?

And so the chant, what will it be? What will it be? What will it be?
